What We Do

The Enhance Program embeds talented Enhance Postdoctoral Fellow in state agencies in two-year tours of duty. CMU will work to identify an annual target list of high-quality state agency placements. The program provides each fellow a mentoring team of faculty members and staff to provide them guidance on their fellowship.

Our Mission

The mission of the Enhance Program is to drive improvements in learning outcomes by accelerating the development and use of learning science, by harnessing the power of computational methods, talent, and data.

Innovative work translating to effective education

What’s the Enhance Program?

The Enhance program offers competitive fellowships that include stipend, benefits, travel, and research funds to Enhance Postdoctoral Fellow in fields relevant to learning analytics (computer science, cognitive science, cognitive psychology, educational psychology, learning sciences). We partner with universities and state education agencies to place fellows in a stimulating and exciting environment that will allow them to create new assessments using learning analytics tools.

The Problem

Innovation in AI and cognitive systems as well as how to leverage data has skyrocketed in academic environments. However, these new methods and ideas do not result in translational work that transforms how students learn, how their learning is assessed, or how student data is used to create adaptable and individualized learning experiences.
